"Stop hiding. We need you to represent us."

Those words from a friend have carried me throughout my career. I began my journey behind the camera, in charge of production logistics including filming, producing, and video editing. This time, I’m hiding no longer as a TV correspondent and host.

My goal is to normalize Asian American stories as American stories. I aim to diversify the newsroom through stories and the people we interview. In this ever changing video industry from politics to entertainment, we can get lost in the breaking news and forget that diversity is important. Seeing someone who looks like you on screen can inspire and empower future generations.

For more than 15 years, I’ve worked with large and boutique video production companies. I was a national correspondent for Scripps News (formerly Newsy) for nearly six years. I reported on-camera, delivered the news with grace and professionalism, wrote, produced, and/or video edited stories from the rise of anti-Asian hate incidents, the Monterey Park Mass shootings to surgeries inspired by SnapChat filters.

Before Scripps, I founded a video production company in New York City. Some of my past clients include: The New York Post, The New York Daily News, Mashable, NBC, EBRU TV, Wine Enthusiast and Snippies.

I also created and hosted a series called “Take Back” that dispelled Asian American stereotypes on NBC Asian America. As a former Asian American Journalists Association chapter president in New York City, I embrace my identity as a super power and hope that by doing so others will too.
